This striking vintage handled serving tray / bowl was made by L. E. Smith Glass in their Mt. Pleasant Black Amethyst pattern produced from 1925-1934. It features scalloped edges, curved sides, with a heart shaped handle. A classic example of elegant depression glass, the color appears black but is actually a very deep dark red.
It measures 8 7/8" wide, 2 1/2" high at the corners, and 4 3/4" high with the handle, and weighs 1 pound 13 ounces. It is in excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks. There are a few scratches on the underside of the piece, but nothing you would see when in use. Please see all photos for condition details.
