These MCM signed George Briard appetizer plates are truly gorgeous! They reflect a shiny gold leaf geometric pattern that looks different at every angle. Georges Briard (birth name Jascha Brojdo) was a Ukrainian immigrant and graduate of the Chicago Institute of Art, and made these in the 1950's in the Forbidden Fruit Border pattern. This line of glassware was originally sold in high end department stores like Neiman Marcus and Bonwit Teller.

These plates measure 5 3/4" in diameter. They are in good vintage condition with no cracks but two of them do have a small chip on one corner as pictured, and they are priced accordingly. One also has some dullness of the pattern in one area. As wild and flashy as these plates are, you would not notice the flaws unless you were looking for them (as I didn't see them until I photographed them!). Please see all photos for condition details.
