This blue spongeware soup / coffee mug was made by the Workshops of Gerald E. Henn, well known for their pottery and especially spongeware glazes. The shape of this mug is perfect for wrapping your hands around it and lounging with your favorite beverage!
It measures 3 1/8" high, 4 1/8 wide at the rim, 5 1/4" wide with the handle, and has a generous 14 ounce capacity. It is in very good vintage condition with no chips or cracks. There is a little crazing on the inside as pictured, but it should not affect the integrity of the piece. Please see all photos for condition details.
The Henn family handcrafted the finest dinnerware, bakeware, and serving pieces on their homestead in Warren, Ohio for five generations. Henn Pottery is very heavy, but truly unique. All of the pieces handcrafted at Henn boasted a commitment to quality and beauty that was a mainstay in early America. After 25 years Henn closed its doors in 2007.
